Meet Gareth, the photographer behind Hector's Eye.

Hector's Eye was built on the belief that every subject deserves its own perspective. Whether photographing a live event, producing films for a growing business or creating portraits with personality, the aim is always the same: to create work that's distinctive, authentic and impossible to overlook.

My photography has always been driven by curiosity. Long before owning my first DSLR more than 25 years ago, I was borrowing my mum's camera to photograph anything that caught my eye. That curiosity has never disappeared and has simply evolved into a career creating distinctive photography and video for businesses, events and individuals.

Around 15 years ago I took the leap into professional photography before family life led me back into a successful career in senior marketing roles. Photography and video never disappeared and became an integral part of my work, creating commercial content, documenting events and producing visual campaigns on an almost daily basis.

That journey has given me something many photographers don't have: experience from both sides of the creative brief. Spending years on the client side taught me what businesses actually need from photography and video. It's rarely just beautiful imagery; it's content with a purpose, delivered on brief and aligned to commercial objectives.

That's why you'll see a range of styles throughout the Hector's Eye portfolio: the treatment shifts to suit the brief and the person in front of the camera, rather than one look applied regardless of what it's for.
